I’ve been dreaming of adding a stair runner to these stairs for a while. Not only does this runner add character but it helps the squeaks of our 120 year old stairs. In true Kasey fashion I had to add jewelry with these stair rods from @runrug ✨ I still need to tackle the top stairs and will try to document the process - it really is so simple and made all the difference

20 frames of my favorite things from August ✨
I walked a lot of weighted miles this month, finished two great books, checked in on some projects that are wrapping up soon, soaked in every moment with my boys and prepped for back to school.
So many exciting things to come with this new season and I am so ready for it!

August! The Sunday of summer ☀️
The mix of late summer tones slowly fading into those early fall hues. The almost school feeling while holding onto the sunshine drenched days a little longer. The bit of chaos left while working a slight routine in the day. I love August for this reason, a happy mix of two great seasons.

I have had the pleasure of working with Natalie from the build of her home a few years ago to decorating shelves and now hanging family photos and art. I’m honored to be apart of such a sacred space, their home. Good design takes time and making a house into a home takes even longer. Showcasing these special memories and art really made their home feel lived in ✨

I’ve been BUSY this summer — juggling work, two boys & filling every second in between with summer fun! I blinked and it’s half way over. Soaking in these long, unstructured, slightly chaotic days ☀️

Here’s a few hot tips-
*collect a variety of frames (shapes, sizes & styles!) I love to thrift & antique mine. I always go for the frames that already have matting - this immediately elevates it & gives you an opportunity to customize it by wrapping in fabric or painting.
*Don’t be afraid to paint or change the finish of the frame. A little rub n buff can make a big impact!
*Add art or photos that compliment the finish of the frame & the entire gallery wall.
*Most importantly, have fun with it & style it to what makes you happy.

Also, did you know I offer this as a service?? Currently working on a few spaces to create a custom collected gallery wall ✨ because truly a good one takes time! Planning on sharing some of my favorite ways to diy & customize your own, stay tuned!

And just like that peony season has come to an end • if you don’t have any planted in your garden this is your sign to do it! It might take a few years to really get some great blooms but all good things come with time ✨

Our sunroom / playroom ☀️
We have big plans for this room later down the road so for now I wanted to do easy upgrades. This room was begging for some color & personality. I wanted it to be fun for the kids but also adult friendly- So not over stimulating, color but muted, patterns but mature.
Swapped the rug for something super soft with warm tones. Painted the windows green. Added little cafe curtains. Painted the hutch white with stripes and dark waxed over it to give it an antique look. Added a little gallery around the tv. Wrapped the top of the toy box with fabric & added fringe to the bottom for something fun. We hung the giant disco ball for something a little unexpected and playful. This space feels comfortable for us to relax in AND fun for the boys.

A Sunday scene • all cleaned up from a sweetly slow & sticky pancake breakfast 🥞🍯

A bittersweet day as we cut down our 130+ year old maple tree. It truly is a staple to our home. I’ve always said “Were the house with the big tree out front”. But after losing a giant branch last spring we knew it was too much of a liability. I’ll miss the shade and privacy, the old trees character and charm it added to our home. I won’t miss the worry with every windstorm and raking all the leaves in the fall. So if you drive by and our house appears a little empty and more open, you know why. Silver lining to all of this, the removal will entertain Callan all day and I’ve planned out our new landscaping ✨🌳 remove our vinyl siding + restore back to the original wood, then paint it our favorite color. Add a charming picket fence + gate, refinish the path to cobblestone + add brick to the front steps + porch, seasonal blooms + all the added charm. Ready @brandongalik ? 🫶🏼

Elevated this thrifted frame by painting it, making a mat & then wrapping it with linen fabric & pairing it with a beautiful print. A little extra work is always worth it ✨

DIY Noticeboard

Materials:
- - Pin board
- - - Spray adhesive
- - Fabric
- - - - - Decorative nail tacks
- - - Hot glue

How to:
Cut your fabric to size, work in small sections and spray the adhesive on your board and smooth out the fabric over top. Layout your decorative nails and hammer into place. Wrap the fabric around the sides and hot glue to the back pulling tight! Hang your board and decorate!

Reimagined our staircase gallery wall and added more character to it with colored photos, mixed frames and styles. I once read somewhere that having photos displayed in your home help kids self esteem and help them feel valued and loved. No shortage of photos here and it’s my favorite thing to watch him stare at the photos and rattle off the names of everyone 🫶🏼

A very full season - full of laughter and love, full bellies, a full house, full of adventure, growth and change. Very grateful for all that has been and looking forward to celebrating this last month of 2024 ✨

Salt Dough Recipe ✨
1/2 cup salt
1/2 warm water
Mix to dissolve the salt a bit
Add 1 cup flour
Mix
Knead it out on a floured surface for 5 min
Then rolled it out, cut desired shape and baked at 250 for an hour or so - depending on how thin you roll it out - these stars are about 1/4” thick and I flipped them halfway through baking #saltdoughornaments #saltdoughrecipe #christmas #christmasdecor #deckthehalls

Almost ready for thanksgiving, my favorite holiday! So happy with how this dining room has come together and looking forward to all the memories we will share in this room 🫶🏼

The tree is up & we hosted our first round of Christmas minis ✨ reach out if you are interested in renting our home for photos!

36 fast hours to Michigan and back - girls trip (plus Cope) packed with good design, inspiration & a lot of laughter. I am exhausted but also feeling inspirationally refreshed ✨ Toured the Madison, Jean Stoffers home, 10,000 sq ft of immaculate design full of intentional details. Enjoyed her store & son’s coffee shop and of course made our way over to The Found Cottage for some more retail therapy. Grand Rapids you were a treat 🤌🏼

The silver lining of being without a dining table for the last 5ish months is plenty of room for dance parties! Here’s to hoping our table arrives before thanksgiving or you’ll see me with the fanciest folding tables.

I’ll look back on this time and enjoy the memories made in the dining room that would not have necessarily happened if we had a table. However I am anxiously planning our first meal around our new table. The table that will be the beginning of so many memories- holiday meals, weekly family dinners, homework, crafts, the birthdays, occasional family meetings .. everything important 🤍

+ use a knife & cut out the outline
+ make a hole for the wire, I used a straw
+ let dry 48hrs

+ string them together, I used 16 gauge wire
